Instructional Design Specialist
University of Missouri
Center for Distance and Independent Study (CDIS)
The instructional design specialist is responsible for coordinating, designing, editing, and producing course materials for online delivery. In addition, the person in this position will provide consultation to faculty and in-house staff in the instructional design of a variety of educational materials. Required qualifications: Master’s degree in English, Journalism, Education, or Instructional Technology is necessary. Two to three years experience in curriculum design, Web programming and editing is required.
Preferred qualifications: Successful candidate will have experience with a range of software and other tools necessary to produce Web-based instruction, including an LMS, tools for writing (x)html, tools for creating graphics, and platforms for building quizzes and tutorials. In addition, this position requires excellent communication skills, proven ability to work both independently and within a team environment, and a solid understanding of effective learning designs and educational assessment strategies.
